King Benjamin was incredible. Perhaps different than many leaders today, he was full of humility, goodness, and strength. He taught his people to love, trust, and serve Jesus Christ. He inspired them to want to come to know and trust Jesus in the same way he did.

He wanted them to “come to a knowledge of the goodness of God, and his matchless power, and his wisdom, and his patience, and his long-suffering towards the children of men; and also, the atonement.” (Mosiah 4:6).

He knew that if they could only learn for themselves how to do this through the “matchless power” of Jesus Christ, their lives would be better and easier. Not easy. But easier.

Elizabeth Elliott, a Christian theologian, once said, “I’ve walked with God long enough to know He keeps His promises.”

What promises are you waiting for in your own family? Do you need His “matchless power” in your life? In your family’s life?

“The Family: A Proclamation to the World” holds the answers: “Happiness in family life is most likely to be achieved when founded upon the teachings of the Lord Jesus Christ” (paragraph 7).

This plan of happiness includes God’s matchless power to help us in our family relationships right here, right now. When we ground our lives and our families on the teachings of Jesus Christ, it makes family life easier. Not always easy, but easier and infinitely better.
