Family and Public Life
Family and Public Life Initiative (FLP)
We collaborate with professors, students, and administrators who share a strong commitment to families and are interested in exploring ways to improve their own work. We also offer resources, training, and support to professionals working at local, national, and global levels.
We’re especially committed to equipping educators and the rising generation with the skills and knowledge to make the most of their degrees and contribute to a broader understanding of the importance of families in the world around them. This includes our target areas of government, humanitarian affairs, journalism and communication, the arts, family history, business, non-profit, public policy, and law.
The Family and Public Life (FLP) initiative will offer a variety of opportunities for current and future students, educators, and adminisrators in higher education to learn about family literacy. In development are curriculum modules that can complement existing university coursework, a high school and university course on family literacy, on-campus workshops for students, and an annual Summer Institute for educators.
