This week we learn from Paul’s incredible teachings that nothing has greater power to help us than the teachings of Jesus Christ. His teachings about how to walk with Christ are desperately needed to help the families of the world today. Perhaps you can think of his advice as guidelines to better teach, strengthen and protect your own family:

“Teach in all wisdom, that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus.”

“As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in Him, rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith”

“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing.”

Parental teaching is at the heart of the gospel of Jesus Christ. Indeed, “Parents have a sacred duty to rear their children in love and righteousness (Family Proclamation para 6). Raising and teaching children to be covenant keepers in a wicked world may appear daunting. Yet we also know that nothing is too hard for the Lord.

President Howard W. Hunter taught, “Whatever Jesus lays his hands upon lives. If Jesus lays his hands upon a marriage, it lives. If he is allowed to lay his hands on the family, it lives.”

“The Family: A Proclamation to the World” is the ultimate home and family improvement guide for creating, strengthening and healing families. As you study and live by its teachings, you will find unique and powerful ways to help you fulfil your sacred duty. Because whatever Jesus lays his hands upon, lives.
