Not long ago I read about a husband and wife who attended the temple. While they were in the sealing room, the officiator asked them to carefully look up at the crystal chandelier above them. He told them that there is no confusion about doctrine in the temple. The world darkens, clouds, and obscures the clarity of God’s doctrine of the family, but in the Lord’s house, it shines brightly. The doctrine is crystal clear.
This week in Come Follow Me we read about why temples are necessary to more clearly understand the Lord’s truth and doctrine:
“In the last days, when the mountain of the Lord’s house shall be established in the top of the mountains … many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths” (2 Nephi 12:2-3).
With a current temple recommend, we can go to the Lord’s house and He will teach us of His ways. His ways that are strikingly different (if not completely opposite) from the world.
“Sacred ordinances and covenants available in holy temples make it possible for individuals to return to the presence of God and for families to be united eternally.”
This beautiful doctrine is taught with complete clarity in the temple.
Did you know that every single ordinance in the Lord’s temple teaches, clarifies, and
confirms every doctrine in the Family Proclamation?
