Because every human being “is a beloved spirit son or daughter of heavenly parents, and, as such, each has a divine nature and destiny” it is God’s intention that all are cared for.
In this week’s lesson, we learn of an “everlasting order” also called the “United Order” that provides every person’s needs and wants where “the poor are exalted and the rich made low.” (104:16) Most important, this order provides both salvation and temporal care.
“Like two sides of a coin, the temporal and spiritual are inseparable. … The one complements the other. … This element of the order (temporal and spiritual) is a joining of the first great commandments—to love God and our neighbor.
The one without the other is a counterfeit of God’s plan of happiness.”
Elder Dieter F. Uchtdorf, Oct 2011 General Conference
Regardless of how we live this order as saints, in our homes we can practice the principles; diligence, stewardship, humility, sacrifice, obedience, self-reliance and the “exercise of the prayer of faith.” (104:80)
