The Lord will gather His people.
Jeremiah prophesied of the gathering that we are living in now and President Russell M. Nelson has said of it: “There is nothing happening on this earth right now that is more important than that [gathering]. … This gathering should mean everything to you” (“Hope of Israel” June 3, 2018).
There are many ways we can take part in the gathering and help others find their way to covenants or back home to them. One way can be understanding for ourselves and helping others know who we really are.
In “The Family: A Proclamation to the World” we are taught, “All human beings—male and female—are created in the image of God. Each is a beloved spirit son or daughter of heavenly parents, and, as such, each has a divine nature and destiny. Gender is an essential characteristic of individual premortal, mortal, and eternal identity and purpose.”
What a beautiful way to understand everyone’s individual worth and see their potential as our brothers and sisters. President Nelson has recently taught that there are three unchanging, paramount ways for us to see ourselves and others:
1. A child of God
2. A child of the covenant
3. A disciple of Christ
We know who we are. We know the most important work we can be doing. How can we gather in another of God’s children today?
“You were sent to earth at this precise time … to help gather Israel.”
