JOY TO THE WORLD
Sometimes primary songs, with their uncomplicated language and simple melodies are so effective at delivering a message to the child in us all.
Consider this one:
IT’S JOYFUL TO LIVE THE GOSPEL
It’s joyful to live the gospel! So joyful I want to sing!
It’s joyful to keep the commandments!
And joyful the peace they bring!
It’s joyful to follow Jesus, our Savior and truest friend,
Who is guiding us with his love back to our home above!
I’ll follow Him with joy!

In a darkening world, and with concerns far beyond those we had as children, when things aren’t perfect in our homes and families, we might ask “Lord, how is it done?”
President Nelson teaches “Joy is a gift for the faithful. It is the gift that comes from intentionally trying to live a righteous life, as taught by Jesus Christ. He taught us how to have joy. When we choose Heavenly Father to be our God and when we can feel the Savior’s Atonement working in our lives, we will be filled with joy. Every time we nurture our spouse and guide our children, every time we forgive someone or ask for forgiveness, we can feel joy.” (2018)
And the Savior himself promises his servants, “Wherefore, be of good cheer, and do not fear, for I the Lord am with you, and will stand by you; …”
As we bear record of Him, that He is the Christ, that He has walked among men and is coming again, that we’ll do so with a gift of joy found in and through Him.
